NOTD - Barry M Foil Nail Effect in 320

I've worn this polish quite a bit over the past few months, but I've always wore a glitter over it. This time I decided to just leave it as it. I do like the foil effect, and the polish itself is nice too- only takes one coat and dries fast. Can't imagine it'll last more than a day or so knowing my nails but hey ho we can wish. I've also cut all my nails short and am starting the growing process again, only because some were long, some were shor,t some were cracked etc, so I just gave up and cut them all off.

Has anyone tried any of the other foil colours? even from a different brand? let me know. Happy Sunday :)

Slimming World Update - Week One

Afternoon everybody! Thought I would do an update on my first week on Slimming World in case anybody out there is remotely interested. So I love Slimming World. I've tried so many diets before, including Weight Watchers, Celebrity Slim, Carb free, calorie counting, but slimming world has always been my favourite and it's the only one that's ever worked.

I did slimming world last year before I went to Portugal, and in three weeks I lost a stone. But then when I went to the Algarve and had pizza or steak and chips every night, not to mention the tiramisu and various other desserts and cocktails I scoffed every night, I fell off the wagon and never got back on.

So now I'm here again, weighing more than I've ever weighed before. But you know what? I've ENJOYED this week. Yeah it wasn't nice when my dad cooked a nice buttery garlic bread and I had to just enjoy the smell, but I have found so many alternatives. The thing I love about slimming world is that you have 10-15 syns per day (I personally stick to 10) and you can really stretch those if you're clever about it! I mean today so far I've had melon, a bacon and egg butty (1.5 syns for the flora) and a packet of quavers (4.5 syns) - and still have 4 syns to spend on whatever I want! I'm thinking a weight watchers lemon slice yyyuuum. Another favourite low syn treat of mine is the options hot chocolate witch comes in at 2 syns for any flavour; I've been enjoying the mint one almost every night.

So far I've lost 4 POUNDS! That's just in my first week so a higher loss is expected anyway. I've also been to the gym 4 times (3x Zumba and Aerobics this morning, which nearly killed me by the way) in the past week and I'm really getting into it. I'd never actually been to a group exercise class before but you walk out feeling amazing.

So my goals for next week? Just carry it on really. I do have a few challenges in this next week though. The first will be tomorrow when I go to the cinema, but I'm planning on nipping to asda before hand and buying some mikado - at half a syn each I can nibble on 20 of them if I wanted to! plus some diet pepsi which I can drink to my heart's content. Secondly I'm going to Chester to stay with my friend on Saturday night, and from what I can tell she lives the student life with her takeaways and such. The plan is to suggest going for a pub tea (where I can easily have steak/jacket potato or whatever else is a free food) or just take my own snacks just in case. At the end of the day IT'S MY BODY AND MY HEALTH, I SHALL NOT GIVE IN TO PEER PRESSURE! :)

Are any of you lovely readers currently doing slimming world? Let me know as I'd love to share tips :)

Two Products I won't repurchase! Dove & Mac

Hello all! Thought I'd do a couple more reviews today, but on products that I won't be buying again. I absolutely love both dove and mac, but these products just haven't worked very well with me. Let's have a look at the lipstick first.

Now don't get me wrong, the finish of this lipstick is perfect. It last ages and is so so hydrating, just like you'd expect from any mac lipstick, however I just chose the wrong colour. I bought this a couple of months back and because there's nowhere to buy mac in my town I got it online. I expected it to be a nudey pinky colour, however it's pretty much the exact same colour as my lips, making it more of a lip balm than anything. It adds slight colour, but nothing massive. I think next time I'm going to go down to Manchester or at least look at some reviews and swatches before buying a mac lipstick again.

Next is this Dove moisturiser. I got this in a set for christmas along with a shower creme thingy. I love dove but this moisturiser is just too heavy for me. It soaks in fairly quick, but to me it just feels quite sticky even 24 hours later. I asked my boyfriend to feel my arm and tell me to describe it and he said 'greasy'! Wouldn't go that far but it's definitely not my cup of tea. I'm all for body butter and thick moisturisers, I just like them to leave my skin smooth. I probably won't use the rest of it as I've got a couple more moisturisers lying around from christmas.

Have any of you tried these products before? What do you think?

Max Factor Striped Nails

I fancied having a play around with my nails. Now I'll be the first to admit that I'm shockingly bad at painting nails (especially when it comes to painting my left hand) but god loves a trier. I used the only two max factor nail polishes I own. Now as you can see from the next picture, the blue polish actually comes out as more of a aqua/teal color, but I only applied 2 thin coats so it's probably for that reason.

Now I'm gonna get back to watching It's complicated wishing I was Meryl Streep, happy sunday :D
